Student Support Services
Aversboro School Counseling Program
All students will participate in the Comprehensive School Counseling Program. The School Counselor will facilitate a lesson at the beginning of the school year to bring awareness to the services offered. Individual sessions will be scheduled daily for 30 minutes. The referral process to meet individually with the School Counselor will be shared with all students during the introductory lesson. Students will be invited to participate in small group sessions to build their Academic, SEL and or Career development skills quarterly. Every student at Aversboro will participate in SEL lessons using the Second Step Curriculum during their 45 minute Specials time. All first grade students will be given the opportunity to participate in Funny Tummy Lessons provided by the district to address Personal safety. Additional lessons will be facilitated throughout the school year to help students build skills in the areas of academics, social emotional, and career development. Collaboration with stakeholders will occur daily to aid in student success. Resources and referrals will be shared with all stakeholders as needs arise.
